National Governing Body Awards
Single Pitch Award
- For those who wish to supervise a group on single pitch crags and
climbing walls.
- Covers such skills as choice of venue, rope management, correct use of
equipment, group management, emergency procedures, crag etiquette, access
and conservation.
- Between training and assessment candidates are expected to gain
extensive supervisory and personal climbing experience. Every opportunity should be
taken to practise the skills learned during training.
- SPA training courses last a minimum of two days or twenty hours.
- SPA assessment courses are run over two days.
